UK open banking payments are slowly creeping up - hitting a record high in July this year, at 11.4 million payments - a 102% year over year increase.

African fintech startups raised $2.7 billion in the last two years, with the number of fintech startups in the region growing 17.7%. (Source)

💸 Venture Financing

  1. Ivy, an international open banking payments provider, raised a $20 million Series A.

  2. Cerby, a comprehensive access management platform for nonstandard financial applications, raised a $17 million Series A.

  3. Qashier, a payments system provider based in Singapore, raised a $10 million Series A.

  4. MFast, a Vietnamese financial services provider, raised a $6 million Series A.

  5. Rextie, a Peruvian foreign exchange platform, raised strategic funding from Citi.

  6. Cumbuca, a company building joint bank accounts in Brazil, raised $3 million.

  7. Parallel, a headcount and financial forecasting app, raised a $1.85 million pre-seed.

  8. OneID, a UK provider of bank-verified digital identification, raised £1 million.

💰 Venture Funds

  • FinTech Collective of New York is looking to increase its fund size by 50% in a new fundraise of up to $300 million for its sixth fund.

  • Crypto payments firm MoonPay launched a new venture arm to invest in web3, gaming, and fintech.
